Elona grinned widely. Ooh, I wish I could do that, she said cheerfully. But I'd prefer if the electricity was strong enough to kill. I could probably draw up a list of victims in five minutes. Elona wasn't too concerned about freaking out Duivel. From the way he had spoken about electrocution, she could tell that the concept wasn't foreign or freaky to him. Duivel was different... was she already labelling him as someone who'd never judge her or some crap like that?!
She glanced at the smoke ring and tried not to look shocked. It was in the shape of a heart. "Heart... means love..." Was this Duivel's way of telling her something, or was she just overreacting or being stupid? What did she want from him, anyway? Was she wasting her time? Elona had no idea how to answer the multitude of questions that were cropping up in her brain...

"Oh, it could if I didn't wear gloves now. For some reason, leather gloves help maintain the power of the attack or spark. Otherwise, that simple fuse back in the store could have put anyone into either a coma or given them a stroke. But what causes you to have such a list of victims?" His head cocked to one side and his wing moved to brush the palm of her hand.
He could hear a light buzzing within his body. Not now, please, don't act up now... It was becoming increasingly difficult for the sparks to keep from flying, but only because his heart was racing. Slow, even breaths Duivel. Slow, even breaths.

Elona shrugged, wondering how in depth she should go with her history. Well, my dad died when I was little because our house burned down... I was outside at the time... I hate my foster parents because my mom Judy's a bitch and my dad Martin has turrets or something, I don't really care. I don't have many friends to turn to except one and she just moved when she used to live pretty close to me, and she transfered schools, so that's why my victim list would be so long.
Elona had been speaking slowly when she started her story, and when she was finished, she was talking so fast that it would probably be hard for Duivel to even understand her. As well as not knowing how long it had been since she had laughed, Elona had no idea if she'd even ever told her past to someone before... ever.

Duivel nodded, understanding how she felt about losing a parent. "My mother died soon after my birth, and I had been sent to an orphanage because they couldn't find my father. I saw him once when I had learned I was partly an incubus, but I didn't wish to lead that kind of life. I hadn't realized that my two close friends there had been there to take me to a clan of incubi and succubi once I became of age... but I still haven't taken that life."
He took a step closer to her, but paused awkwardly. What would he do, anyway? Hugging was a bit out of the question. He wasn't much of one to give hugs or anything, and he wasn't really taking Elona to be the kind to accept them.

Wow, Elona said, blinking. She hadn't been expecting a story like that, and even though everyone had dark secrets and terrible aspects of their lives, that one sort of jumped out at her. That really sucks. Where do you live now if...? she inquired, trailing off mid-sentence. It was hard to know what to say with those barriers between them put down: the pasts. Elona felt as if she had involuntarily let Duivel into her heart, and perhaps likewise - though she knew she shouldn't jump to conclusions...
She looked around warily, glad that nobody else had stumbled upon them. That would be a hard thing to explain...

"An abandoned warehouse off the beaten trail and into the woods. It's pretty quiet out there, really," he replied, sucking in a breath, though not sharply. His lower limbs brought him even nearer to her, and he knew he was taking a chance by being close.
I guess that grocery shopping is out of the question now, he thought, though was taking into account that Elona's foster parents would probably have a fit if she didn't return with the things they wanted her to buy. It was worth a shot to remind her, though. "Wasn't there something you needed to get out here before I appeared suddenly?" Duivel asked softly.

Sounds nice, Elona remarked, not really out of truth but just because she felt like she had to say something, though a quiet area like the one Duivel had described didn't sound unpleasant. She noticed that he was taking steps nearer and nearer to her, which made her somewhat nervous, but the butterflies that were fluttering in her stomach wouldn't let her know anything else about her emotions. Was she eager, repulsed, indifferent...? Who knew?
Oh, Elona said suddenly in agreement. I guess you're right. She gave a sigh. Judy will spazz out if I don't, so we should probably head back there, if you want to come with me...?

"If it does not bother you, Lady Elona," he answered, bowing his head as his wings dissolved back into his skull and back. If he did accompany her, he would at least have to look the human part. A lot of screaming humans wasn't exactly the best thing to hear, especially not a chorus of said shrieks.
He had been glad she hadn't inquired what an incubus was. To tell her what they did... he did not know how he would be able to get her to trust him after that. For her to know that part she might actually be afraid of him than in wonder over how he could grow wings.

Elona shook her head, watching his wings disappear and pretending that she didn't hear what he had called her, not particularly wanting to blush again. That's just so cool, she enthused. What else can you do? She smiled at her own stupid question. Elona thought she sounded more like herself as a child than as a young woman, when she used to be curious and excitable and loving. She'd changed so much since then, and she never thought she'd ever see a hint of her old self again, yet here she was, acting like how she used to.
Elona began to walk back in the direction of the store, though she dreaded going back. How she hated public places! If she had her own private facility of everything and never had to endure any human contact, she'd be so much happier. Turning, she waited for Duivel to follow.

"Sometimes I can get thunder storms to form, but most of the lightning hits me and people sort of stare when I just stand there and ask 'What?' after being struck. As for my incubus half, I can enter the dreams of those around me if they're asleep. Daydreams don't work," he explained, though kept quiet and said the last part a bit slowly. He was sure it was going to bring up more questions that he didn't want to answer.
He trotted up and took to walking beside yet a tad behind her. If he had to he could probably slip away. And yet, he didn't want to. He wanted to stay with her. She was interesting, she didn't scream when she knew he could practically kill her, and she wasn't even frightened by his two sets of wings. Who was this girl?

Elona laughed again - what was wrong with her today?! - and agreed, Well, if I saw somebody get struck by lightning and keep walking, I'd probably stare, too. I guess it'd be pretty convenient, though. She just then seemed to soak in the next part of what he said. You can enter their dreams? asked an astonished Elona. Wow. That's really cool. Do they remember you when they wake up?
Soon they came back to the store, and, flinching at all the sounds - there was a baby crying and being cradled in his mother's arms in one of the lineups - Elona consulted her list again, sighing at all the things Judy has told her to purchase and wondering if she'd even given her enough money.

"That depends. If they sleep peacefully, like I walk into a calm dream, then normally they don't remember anything. But if it's anything worse, then yes, they remember me when they wake up in the morning, and normally they are scared half to death. We aren't very welcome into dreams, even when we don't mean to stumble into them," he whispered, contemplating. If there was a way to keep her from knowing everything, he would take it.
The noise from the whining child causing him to flinch back in distaste. "What a wretched sound," he muttered, glancing to Elona with his golden gray eyes. "What all is on your list?" He hadn't seen it before, since he sparked. That hadn't been the best thing in the world.

I'd be kind of freaked out if you just tripped into one of my dreams, Elona confided in him, glancing into his unusually coloured orbs and deciding that they suited him somehow. She liked them, in any case. But if I'm ever just watching a dream take place and I see you suddenly, maybe you'll get lucky and I'll wave or something.
Scowling at the baby's crying still, Elona narrowed her eyes at the list, hating her foster mother's perky handwriting. She seems to want everything in the grocery store's alphabet, Elona grumbled, marching towards a display of shopping carts and finding one, muttering to herself, I can't believe I'm doing this.

"Perhaps we can make it a little bit better if we multitask a bit. Up for a game of truth?" he asked as he joined her by the carts. Sometimes talking wasn't the worst thing in the world, though much of the time he got annoyed with how much some people could talk. He was just glad Elona would speak to him after all that happened when they had first met each other.
That probably did startle her, he realized. Being found in a graveyard, alone, the one approaching a guy with you being a girl... Duivel could feel his heart sort of sink in guilt. He could see now how much of a threat he had probably been viewed as. Who knew, maybe she even thought he might have been a rapist.

Elona let out a little chuckle, resting her hands on the handle of the cart. Sure. Maybe it'll make this chore go by faster. She continued down one of the aisles, checking over her shoulder to make sure that Duivel was following. The cereal aisle. How boring. It was just like Judy to want cereal that sounded completely nauseating, like Choco-Banana Crisp.
Thinking about it, Elona realized that she was actually pretty lucky to have run into Duivel. She hadn't been able to actually speak to someone without snapping at them for a few weeks now, ever since her best friend had changed schools and moved a bit further away so that they were no longer within walking distance of each other. There was still MSN and the phone, but in person meant so much more to Elona.
