"I'm sure you'd enjoy that idea," he retorted, imagining her laughing as he rushed around aimlessly and pointlessly. And not to mention stupidly. His orbs narrowed, looking past her rather than at her, but he saw nothing. Perhaps freedom was just clung too much in his personality.
The light zephyr that rustled the leaves and his golden locks left a gelid in his marrow. His voids, not nictating for a good while now, felt the caress of the frosty air flowing past him. The gloves of ebony about his hands, however, rendered them forever warm, and a spark jolted from his palm up his arm, only to sink into his shoulder.

"Perhaps I would," LiAnne said listlessly, striding north and assuming that Exparios would follow along behind. "I need to find out what's with the woods these days somehow... if only I knew..." She suppressed a sigh, not wanting to show signs of weakness. Weakness was defeat. LiAnne despised defeat, resignation.
She paused in her tracks, hearing more footsteps. It was like an invisible force, toying, waiting, watching...

As she halted -- he had, as she assumed he would, followed -- he nearly crashed into her, which would have been a dire mistake on his part. But that would be natural for him by now, as many times as he had screwed up already. "What're you stopping f--"
Realizing this would only cause him more trouble with his now superior, he cut himself off and tried to keep quiet. It would be a long night, longer than he would ever hope.

LiAnne held up a hand that was whiter than the moon. "Listen," she breathed. The footsteps sounded again, and instinctively she pivoted, shouting out, "Who's there? Show yourself!"
Perhaps sometimes the lyspeca forgot that though she led the Hearts of Steel, she did not command the woods. Only some of those who occasionally stayed in it. The trees, the moon, the mist and the fog - they were their own, and apparently this enemy was as well.

Listening, as he had been commanded, he heard mostly the soft sound of shoes against grass once he got past the demanding of LiAnne for the enemy to show themselves. Had he not already most likely gotten on her bad side -- which was probably an understatement at this point in time -- he would have reminded her not all things would bow down at her feet if she told them to. Unless she was the ruler of the universe -- and then there were still be the defiant ones. These thoughts he would keep to himself this time, at least, and waited to see if she'd command him into the woods as she was that the intruder show themselves.

Glancing at the follower she had brought along, LiAnne bit her lip and paced, trying to ignore the footfalls that were resonating around the area, even though they were really starting to unnerve her. She wasn't scared, exactly; LiAnne was seldom scared, and probably hadn't been frightened for a decade at least, maybe even a few years more. But she was worried, for the well-being of the woods. Of her woods.
Perhaps it was a mistake to tell him, the minion - for that was all he was in her mind - to come along. Perhaps she should have just flown solo as she so often did and solved the problem that way. LiAnne wasn't sure, and either way, it was a bit late now.
"Well, now is your chance to show me why you got accepted into this place," the lyspeca said finally. "What do you suggest doing?"
She'd never admit it, but the only reason she asked was because she herself had hit a dead end. The footsteps were getting to her mind, and she couldn't concentrate.

{ Musey came back. =D }
Exparios at first just stared at her. Then, lifting his gloved hand, electricity poured from his finger tips and body into his palm. Soon, a sphere formed in a cackling ball of illumination. Tossing it from his grasp, the form bounced from tree to tree in the speed light would move, then began to split into smaller pieces that not only went side to side, but up, down, and diagonal.
Normally, he would not use the move, even though the energy did no harm to plant life. Sometimes it did put a slight shock into an animal that scurries by, but nothing too serious. It was merely to pinpoint where the energies would stop. Wherever it clung to, that was your invisible enemy.
Silently, he turned his eyes from the forest to see the reaction of LiAnne. The muteness of his actions, it was merely of boredom on the subject.

( Yes. <3333333 )
LiAnne raised a challenging eyebrow, a tiny, pleased smile growing on her lips. She wasn't a kind creature, nor was she sympathetic or loving, but she wasn't always outright cruel as the majority of beings who knew her thought she was. To those who were on her side, she was more accepting. It was just her enemies that got the full, brutish force of her temper.
"Interesting idea," she remarked. She was impressed; she only hid some of it, not really caring if it leaked out or not.
Exparios' plan did seem to work, also; she could make out the faint outline of a creature - about the height of a large wolf and around the same length - a bit further on. Friend or foe... how could you know in such a place like this?

"It's useful when you can't see in the dim amount of light or if the opponent isn't clearly visible," were his choice words of response, watching the creature that was a distance off. If it posed a threat, he'd think about using a higher voltage. Notice, however, it says he'd think about it.
Sometimes, Exparios liked to be idiotic and get himself into positions that almost kill him. It was not that he was stupid -- just dense at times. It was sort of pathetic, if you were to take the time out of your life to consider it.

LiAnne's harsh eyes narrowed and flashed in the darkness as she stepped forward. She tried to summon up her voice to let out another commanding, 'Show yourself!' but she couldn't bring herself to do. There are times when silence should reign, and there are times when we should speak. LiAnne was working learning this.
"Maybe you shouldn't be here," LiAnne muttered, thinking grudgingly of Exparios' safety. Then again, his powers could be needed. That wasn't the nicest thought.

His eyes flickered to LiAnne of only a moment, the golden orbs shaded with a calm emotion. His voice mimicked this as he asked, very simply, "Why?" There was an odd surging throughout his body, sparking with the fact something was there.
He watched, motionless. That one area was the center of his attention, except for the brief moment he had taken to glance at his... leader. The word felt strange to even think. Leader.

"Because I don't know what the thing that's lurking about is," LiAnne replied, slightly irritated. Then again, the lyspeca's voice always came out sounding that way. "It could be dangerous - well, I'm quite sure it is - and even fatal. I don't want you to die out here," she said in a rush.
LiAnne did not like people to know that even a shred of mercy, a shred of good will, existed in her tattered soul. But it did. In every soul, there is some good - even the smallest amount still counts in the long run.

Those cloudy, flaxen-gray voids merely gave her an indifferent look to what they had before -- only, the will to fight may have shone through, all the muscles in his body tensing in the anticipation of an attack. "Fatal is only a word they place on things that can end your life faster -- I didn't join to stand here. If it is deadly, then I still wish to battle."
Even through his gloved hands, sparks started to bounce off his skin and sink back in moments later. Each had a distinct cackle that fizzed with a snapping growl. The same sort of snarl rumbled through his mind. It was only after sucking in a breath through his teeth that he was able to grind out the words, "I swear not to die," in a low voice from his throat.
