Slipping into bed beside her, he draped one arm over her waist. "Good night, Toff," he murmured. His lips caressed her cheek and forehead. It felt like a weight was lifted and he was floating, all gravity defied. Perhaps he was. The smile on her face had lightened his soul.
"Sweet dreams." His eyes closed then, his arm drawing her nearer to keep her warm. Her scent was in his lungs, and it had never smelled so sweet as it did tonight. And it'll get even sweeter as the days pass by.

Toff closed her eyes. "Goodnight, love. See you tommorrow." She whisperd back as she dozed off. Toff really couldn't believe it. She was never usualy tired at this time of night. She was a night owl all the way, she could stay up all night if she wanted too.
But something was diffrent tonight. It was like she used to do every Christmas eve. She would go to bed as early as possible so morning would come quicker. This was very similar.
The only diffrence, was that this gift, lasted a lifetime.

When the sunlight filtered down through the blinds, he blinked his eyes sleepily. Morning. At first he was about to groan, but then he recalled what had happened yesterday and was instantly cheered by the thought that after the operation and some weeks of healing, Toff would be able to see. It caused him to creep as quietly from the bed as possible, on tip-toe as he tried to get himself his clothes to get dressed.
Strawberry waffles. When was the last time he ate something like that? Shrugging, he put off that question. It was a special occasion, he could make something not completely healthy. Pancakes weren't one hundred percent healthy, anyway, and he knew it. Wonder when she'll start waking up...

Toff slowly opened her eyes. "Wow. Morning already..." She said to herself. She turned over and felt in the spot that Ryo was supposed to be in. At first Toff felt a little worried, but then remembered.... Oh... He's making breakfast... She thought with a smile.
She got out of bed and walked down stairs in serch of her husband. "Ryo?" She called out. "You know you don't really have to make breakfast, sweetie..." She said with a chuckle. "I was only joking about that.."

"Well, you can't start the day on an empty stomach, now, can you?" he inquired, chuckling as the smell of waffles danced in the air. "I'm almost done, anyway."
Ryo strode from the kitchen, popping his head out, then spotting her. He made his way over to her, then kissed her cheek. "Morning, my love. I'm sure the strawberries won't be nearly as sweet as you are." His fingers enclosed her hand, and a smile played over his lips. It was a special day; extremely special.

Toff laughed. "I have before. Many times, sweetie. It's not that bad. But I think it's very sweet of you to make breakfast." She said softly, kissing Ryo on the tip of his nose. "And I'm sure they will be. I'm not sweet." She said with a small chuckle. "You on the other hand..." She said, putting her hand on his cheek, "are a different story."
Toff knew Ryo would dissagree with her but she didn't care. She would make him realize he was sweet. No matter how stubborn she had to be. No matter how long it would take. He would realize it.
"Are you as excited about today as I am?" Toff asked with a smile.

"You are sweet. And you're kind, too. But let's not quarrel, even if it's not really much of one. We have much more time later on when you can see," he murmured, pulling her close by wrapping an arm around her waist.
He had to smile at the question she asked. Was he? "More than I could ever express," he admitted, and left a feather-light kiss upon her cheek. His face buried into the side of her neck then, his lips caressing it for a moment.
