"I'll find you, no worries. I'll make sure you're hardly out of my site before, between, and after classes. I say hardly because I don't think they'd like me walking into the girls' restroom with you in the least," he said, a joking tone to his voice.
When she asked him if that was the room, he nodded. "Yup, that's the Math room. It's pretty boring though, the teacher goes really slowly." His eyes flickered to the clock for one moment, then back to her. "I'll see you right after class, okay?"

Carmen smiled weakly at the joke. She was feeling sick all of a sudden and the last thing on Earth she wanted to do was step into that classroom, alone, unarmed, friendless. What choice did she have, though? And hopefully Riv wouldn't have any trouble finding her after class. She knew he wouldn't. She trusted him.
Okay, she replied, her voice emerging as a whisper for some reason. She quickly kissed his cheek and tried to smile before ducking hurriedly into the classroom, hoping she'd be able to find a seat far away from anyone popular.

The bell to end the classes ran loud and clear over the intercom. It was days like today that Riven loved being next to the door. Everyone jumped up, ignoring the teacher's protesting, bursting out into the hallway with him in the lead.
He weaved through the crowded hallway, going back down toward where Carmen's class was. When he reached a few meters, perhaps three, away from it, he tried making himself taller. The one thing he didn't want her to do was get lost now. Not since what he did earlier that morning, which would probably get him murdered tomorrow morning.

Carmen had been sitting in the back of the room for the whole class - which was, as she had predicted as soon as she walked in, extremely boring - but when the bell rang, she was the first one out in the hallway. She pushed and shoved her way out the door, being rather rude in the process ("Ugh, get the hell out of my way!") The only thing on her mind was finding Riv.
When she did see him a little further on down the corridor, she hurried to him, taking his hands. Hey, Riv.

"Hey," he replied with a chuckle, unconcerned for the aggravated looks from some of the students trying to get around them and to class. The hall was filled with chattering teens, making it hard for him to even hear himself over the intensity of the noise echoing about the walls. But this wasn't a very comfortable place to be, and he squeezed her hand gently.
"Let's get you to your next class, then we can hide in a less crowded area and talk," Riven told her over the voices of the dozens of other students swarming the halls, crushed between walls, metal lockers, and other students. He slipped his arm around her waist and winked at her. "Now, what class do you have?"
