"No human smells like you. Sa'd...well that's what we call her in public anyway, and I'll let her tell you her real name later. Anyway, she smells like a garden and a forge, while you don't smell completely human. Trust me, she won't freak out. She's seen more then you would think," Tod stated, looking at Aasta.
He shook a little, and yawned. Aasta moved slightly, her hands flexing slightly at her side. His ear twitched a little, as he heard her mutter, "Those swords don't look safe up there."

Rafe gave a slight nod of his head, still uncertain. Perhaps they wouldn't think him a threat, even if he was half canine. He was about to change when he had heard Sa'd speak, and tilted his head at her. Swords?
"What swords?" he inquired in a murmur, looking over at Tod. He hadn't seen any swords when he had walked in. Or perhaps he was not looking in the right place? A light shudder ran down his spine from a memory tucked deep into his soul, causing the charm about his neck to clink against the spikes on his collar.

"Not important. Just a memory," Tod stated, trying to remember when swords had been involved in Aasta's past.
Aasta's hands were unclenched, but her fingers twitched slightly. For the life of him, Tod couldn't remember when swords were there for Aasta. "Oh, she's going to start moving. She's had this nightmare before," Tod warned, remembering the first time the nightmare had happened.
The fever induced nightmare didn't leave, and Tod knew if never would. The swords what hit her, slicing open her back, and all the while she would twitch & whimper. In fact, she would twitch all over, tossing her head, and sweating. She wouldn't calm down until the nightmare was finished.
Even Tod wasn't sure what happened. Too many images, feelings, and memories that were too fuzzy to remember would flash across her mind. 'Hush now Aasta. Hush now. Nothing can hurt you right now. There are no swords, no swords,' he called into her mind, trying to calm her down.

"There isn't anything that can help her?" he queried, bracing himself against what would happen. He hadn't seen anyone twitch unless it was in irritation or if... Rafe shuddered at what went through his mind. Or if they were dying and they twitched before they could no longer move. Shoving the thought to the side, he fumbled with the towel, pretending to dry his hands even though they were dry as bone.
He wouldn't allow his deep, verdant eyes to turn back. If he saw her move like that, he wasn't sure if he'd remember anything from past events. Sometimes he did, sometimes he didn't. But he didn't want to act strange in front of them. What he was was enough of an oddity.

Aasta twitched, and her back arched up, pain flaring in her head. Her breathing became off, and she moved her head slightly, laying still, her arms shaking. "Her body memory from when she was younger. When she gets injured, she always has the nightmare. You might want to..." Tod started to explain when Aasta's eyes shot open.
The emblems blazed slightly before her eyes closed again, and she lay still. Her breathing was still ragged, and she was calm. Tod let out a soft sigh of relief, and lay down. "It was faster this time," Tod stated.
He looked at Rafe, knowing very few could miss the emblems' slight blaze. "Still would like your company, no matter what you are, human or not," Tod stated, now studying him a little.

His gaze returned to Sa'd, watching her carefully. Then it went to Tod, turmoil raging inside his heart, tearing at him to feel free of this body of naked flesh. "Would you mind," he began asking, trying to sound polite, "if I were to change from this form? It is dreadfully cold to me. I swear I am no more danger in another form than I am this one; just without thumbs."
He also wished to find out what they would think. Was it usual for there to be a werewolf near them? He wasn't sure, but he hoped it wasn't a horrible thing. From his memories, humans didn't seem to like werewolves much. The ones he had met, anyway.

"Go ahead," Tod answered, not watching him cautiously just to prove that point.
He looked over at Aasta, and listened to her breathing. Still off, still a little ragged, and he could now smell a hint of fear. No, her nightmare wasn't over, it was just not effecting her physically. He lay down, and relaxed. There was no need to get worked up. Whatever Rafe was, Tod didn't really care. He had helped Aasta, the one person he cared about besides himself, and that was good enough for him.

Peering down at the floor for a moment, he inhaled deeply. His emerald orbs closed against the world, his sight left to darkness, but his body left to light. Be began to glow as he transformed from his usual form. But shortly after, the illumination died down, and in his place was a wolf.
He was ebony as the darkest nights, his collar still hanging about his neck and the charm still hanging from it. Yin and Yang. Rafe wasn't sure which side belonged to his human half and which to his canine, but he supposed it didn't matter. His jade voids opened then, glancing to Tod, then to Sa'd as he pawed quietly over to lay by her side.

"Oh, yeah, I would love if you could join us on our never ending journey to nowhere," Tod said, honestly, and made sure he didn't sound sarcastic.
He moved, and cuddled up next to Aasta's head. He reached out with his mind to her, and told her everything that happened. 'I know you want to have another along to where we go to who knows where, so I hope you don't mind Rafe coming along. He's a werewolf and might be helpful,' Tod called inside her mind.
'He's warm. I think we should head up to the snowy parts soon anyway. I won't mind' she answered.
Tod let out a small sigh, and curled up. "She doesn't mind," Tod muttered, and went into a light doze.

"Okay," Rafe murmured, as if the atmosphere would shatter if he spoke louder. In his wolf form, his voice sounded a bit deeper than it did as a human, but it never bothered him much. Laying beside Sa'd, he crossed his obsidian paws and laid his head on them.
"I do hope my jacket is warm enough," he mentioned, pointing out that he had kept his leather jacket over Sa'd. He was covered in fur now, though, and the object was insignificant to the immense fluff on his body.

Aasta shifted slightly, her nightmare almost at it's end. Tod, shifted slightly, feeling deep within his mind that Aasta would waken soon. She did, and she let out a soft groan, eyes opening again. "My head hurts," she groaned out.
She was warm, and there was more warmth coming from Tod then normal. Wait, Rafe a werewolf joined them. She let out a soft sigh and closed her eyes again. Not that it made much of a difference. "Are you awake?" she called softly.
She heard the rain outside, and tried to think. There was no thunder, and she rubbed her head a little.

Rafe opened a verdant eye, his skull lifting from his feet. "Is there anything you want for your head?" he inquired softly. "Ice? For me to go fetch something that is said to cure it? Or shall it be fine?" By now his head was tilted to the side, his harks flickering lightly at the pattering of the rain.
It felt odd, slightly. He'd never come across a fox or a girl traveling with a fox. This would surely be interesting, if nothing else. Where he'd go with them he wasn't completely sure, but it couldn't be any more dull than sleeping in the alleys at night.

"No, that's okay. Can you help me sit up please?" she asked, knowing it would be a bad idea to sit up by herself.
Her breathing was still a little off, and she felt Tod shift. She moved her hand until her fingers brushed Tod's back. She smiled, and gently lay a hand on his head. He muttered something before going into a deeper sleep. "No need for him to wake up," she mumbled.

Rafe got to his paws. "As best I can," he promised, moving nearer to her. "If you use me for support can you push yourself up, or would it be easier for me to return to my human form?" He was wary of turning back into a human.
Sometimes, he could conjure his clothes back in place and he's transform back the way he was before he became a wolf. Other times, though, he was not as lucky and was only wearing his collar when he crossed species. It embarrassed him, but he knew that didn't mean much. Merely that he wanted to hold to his dignity.

"No, I can just pull myself up while you are in your wolf form," she answered.
She loved this kind of weather, so long as Tod wasn't complaining on how it was evil. He often said on how he hated getting soaked as it made him look like a drowned rat. She only gave him a look to which the response was always if you could see, you would agree.
