The droplets of liquid splattered against him as he slowed his lope. His emerald eyes glanced around for nor more than a few moments before he gazed back to the girl he had in his arms; Trix. She must be cold by now, with all the running mixed with how she was shivering earlier.
"You still awake, Trix?" he queried in a gentle voice, much like one you would use with a frightened animal. The sidewalk was slick from the rain, the streets glistening as he held her against his chest while walking beneath the feeble shelter that hung over the windows of some of the shops he was passing. It wasn't much yet, but there had to be an inn nearby, didn't there?

She nodded softly. "Yeah," she said in a whisper. Tear marks tainted her face, though no new ones were created as her eyes started to flutter open. She started to wriggle. "Can I walk now, or are you going to insist that I stay up here in your arms?" She said with a cocky smirk.
She was tired, she had to admit, and sleeping would have been nice, but, yes, she wanted to walk. Her heart beat had picked up speed and she wanted to calm down. She didn't make eye contact with him for some weird reason, but she didn't.

"If you wish to get down and walk, I suppose I could let you," he said. "You'll need to be careful for how slippery the sidewalk has become, but if you want to, I'll let you. No point in going against your will. It's very persistent, you know." As he spoke to her, he continued walking, in search of an inn or a home that seemed to be deserted.
An inn came into view, but he wasn't sure if it'd be affordable. He could just sneak in and take one of the rooms. Or he could find a nice meal for the night, depending on if it were some elderly person -- as their blood never tasted any good -- or not.

"Could you?" She said shuffling a bit more. She kept her eyes away form him, but she had this weird feeling now when she looked at him, and she couldn't stand it, yet, it was, pleasent.
She sighed and relaxed, all she could do is wait, until he let her down. She pictured it, as soon as her foot hit the ground, she slips and lands face first on the floor. She could picture it perfectly.

"Alright." Gently, he set her on her feet upon the concrete, but didn't let her go. He kept an arm around her waist. It wasn't so much from being paranoid as it was from knowing she would most likely slip if he didn't. That wasn't what he needed at the moment.
His eyes lingered on the inn, pondering. He never did carry the wallet he had been given with him, and he didn't want to leave her just to go find it in his tomb. "Do you want to stay at the inn, or is there somewhere you'd rather go instead?" he inquired as he turned to look at her again.

She sighed and slip, CRASH, she fell forward. Quickly getting up again, she steadied herself and continued. "It really doesn't matter to me, as long as I'm far from my parents." She stated quietly.
She knew she would crash, it was inevitable, especially when it came to her. She always embarrassed herself like that. Her face had turned cherry red from embarrassement, but why!?

With a sigh, he asked, "Are you sure you wouldn't rather me carry you before you hurt yourself to the point you'll be hospitalized?" Both of his pale hands fell to her shoulders, turning her so that she faced him. If there was one thing that bothered him, it was when people wouldn't look at him.
His spiked hair dripped lightly from the accumulated water. He could feel his auburn bangs plastered to his forehead, and he imagined he looked half like a drowned rat, excluding the fact he was shirtless. That merely made him look crazy.

She looked into his eyes and nodded. "I'm fine," she spluttered quietly. "I'm fine." She tried to move, yet couldn't seem to now, and she didn't know what had come over her. But now, her heart was beating rapidly in her chest, and she was still solid.
She had to admit, he looked kind of funny shirtless in the middle of the town, in the freezing rain. But he culd not feel anything, could he?

"Alright...," he murmured. A grin coiled onto his lips then. "I suppose it's one stolen inn room coming up, then." He turned, being deliberately slow. It wasn't that he hadn't broken into a hotel or an inn before and used one of the rooms before, far from it. If there was one thing he loved to do it was pretend he could actually still enjoy the soft feather pillows and the smell of fresh sheets.
In reality, he couldn't. None of it made him happy like it would have in his human days, when he liked to travel around. There weren't many places he could go alone when he was still human... but there were times he missed those days. He'd just like to keep the wings and enhanced abilities.

Trix looked at him with a concerned look as she walked side by side with him, her more carefully than him, trying not to fall face first again, though it was inevitable. It couldn't be stopped, she was just like that, could never change.
She sighed and stopped looking at him, she looked down and walked forward, that was the way Trix usually was anyway.

"Does that prospect bother you?" he inquired of her in his soft, melodic tone that he was more used to using. "If you would rather me not break in, steal a room, and then bring you up to it, then I could attempt to find a better solution to the predicament." His green eyes glimmered as he looked at her, his hand lifting to touch her cheek to add to his effect.
It wasn't as uncommon as she probably thought for him to be sleeping on the grass, in an inn, or even on top of a roof. There was no weather that bothered him, not even the scorching heat of the summer, though he could never be his vampire form while being in the sunlight. Lest he wish to burn slowly and painfully, he would stay in an incubus form until the evening.

"No, that's not it," she said quietly. She didn't look at him, or make any other motion, even when he touched her cheek. His skin was surprisingly soft to the touch, even though he was dead, in a sense.
She sighed and just kept looking down. There were so many thoughts rushing through her mind, she couldn't really concentrate.

"What is it, sweet Trix?" he murmured, trying to coax her. "What is bothering you so, if not that?" His hands fell to his sides, his face contorting into a look of confusion. Cerise lips twisted as his brow furrowed up, unsure of what could be upsetting her. Or, even, if he was imagining it due to being dead for so long.
Shifting his weight from one leg to the other, he could not hide the nervous, fidgety feeling he was getting. He knew not even what he was doing, much less did he know if he was secretly scaring her. Though, she had not hidden her fear before, nor how she wanted him to get away from her, but the words that were ringing in his ears remained. I will make you mine.

She sighed. "It's nothing." She gave him a fake smile, it was convincing but, increduously fake. He was talking care of her, and that was more than anyone had ever done for her. She was invisible, a ghost, literally to man kind.
She didn't look at him, she didn't want to. She didn't want to know what he was doing, or even what he was thinking. The albino girl kept going, a black sheep to all.

J.D. let out a breath, knowing she wasn't going to be easy to make speak. Shaking his head, he gazed at her once more. "Stay here," he told her. "I'll be back within a few minutes at most."
Within a flash, he was gone. His speed gained him a key, as well as a quick glimpse of the confused look on the person at the desk's face. Making it to the door of the room, he unlocked it, went inside, then relocked it before creeping over to the window and opening it wide.
Leaping out the window, which was on the second story, his feet hit the pavement. He straightened, brushed off, then appeared beside Trix. "Ready to go to your room, Madame?" he inquired softly.
