It was on the porch that Konozen's fear stood. His brother, MaluVu, those cobalt eyes finally fixing on him. Cautiously, he made his way up to the house to confront his brother.
"Where have you been?" Mal demanded, causing Konozen to tremble slightly. It had felt as if the house had shaken along with the booming words.
"I got lost. Crash helped me get back," he tried, feebly, to explain as he nodded toward the Pegasus. Konozen could hear his brother snort.
Glancing back at Mal, he could see him shaking his head. "If you think your 'friend' there can come into the house, you're mistaken, little brother. Mother would throw a fit if there was a horse in the house." Mal tried to stare down the puppy eyes Konozen gave him. It wasn't the guilt that got to Mal, just how annoying that look was. After a moment, Mal relented and said, "Mess up the furniture, and you're working extra hours. And not at your work, either."
With a victorious grin, Konozen looked to Crash. "It's better inside. The house has held up against the sand well for the many years we've lived here."

Crash snorted once and looked at Kon. "I'm sure no one would appreciate me coming into that house." He then directed his attention to Mal. "And for future refrence, I am not a horse, I am a Pegasus." He gave a might shake and sand flew off his coat, but more quickly gathered onto his grey colors again. He sighed. "This will be irritating.." He mumbled quietly.

"You can be a cat, and it will make no difference to me." His eyes drew to Konozen. "Mother is shopping," Mal stated. "But when she returns, it would be wiser to go out to the garage. She never bothers to go there. And brother..."
Konozen glanced to Mal, and found himself being glowered at. "... I will not do this again if you get lost and some creature decides to bring you home out of whatever, and if Mother comes home and sees him, it is you who will deal with it, not I."
Nodding quickly, Konozen turned his attention back to Crash as Mal disappeared into the house. "He's like this normally... we sort of get used to it. He's been like that since Dad died," he explained to the Pegasus as an apology for Mal's rudeness.

Crash gave an understanding nod. "Ah, yes. Death is something hard to forget. But Death is apart of life, and all should learn to understand that." He looked over towards the open desert... So much sand... it's crazy. Crash & Burn shifted his weight to his left hind leg and sighed.

"Will you be able to get inside?" Konozen inquired shyly, glancing toward the open doorway. He wasn't sure what happened to the Pegasus' wings when they disappeared, even though he was slightly sure they weren't just invisible. This area was fairly sandy and could be a bit difficult on those who hadn't lived with it all their lives. And, even for some of them that had, the sand wasn't all that pleasant.

Crash shook his head. "Even if I could, it may not be wise for me to enter." He stared at Konozen. "This acctually doesn't seem to much worse than a hail storm." He snorted, getting more sand out of his nose. He shook his skull and glanced around. How could anyone even think to live out here?

"Perhaps to the garage, then?" he queried, pressing like a helpless child who wants a new toy. "Mother nor brother normally go out there, and if they do it's only Mal. Mother doesn't like it because she thinks it's just not good for her to go into it." Konozen rolled his eyes, as if it were the stupidest thing he'd ever heard. Both of his brothers -- though one he would not mention -- were mechanics, and whenever he didn't have work he'd hang around with Mal at his garage and watch him fix cars.

Crash gave a nod. "Yes that sounds like a better idea." He knew what a garage was. He had seen them before. He shook his bodice and snorted, ridding himself of some of the sand.

Nodding swiftly, Konozen hopped over the rain of the porch -- and it creaked as it tilted out of place. Rubbing the back of his head, he muttered, "Guess I'll need to fix that later..." Then, looking at Crash, he shrugged and made a gesture for him to follow as Konozen made his way to the back of the house. Thankfully, they had no pets -- all of them would most likely have been killed in their poverty.

Crash watched Konozen and grinned slightly at what had happened. He shook his head then followed the boy. He was already trying to figure out how he was going to get back into the air with all this sand. Maybe he'd have to get in a fast run in before taking off.

Quickly, Konozen pushed open the door of the garage. It had to be the only place the three of them kept clean, since none of their rooms where. He flipped on the light switch, a naked bulb flickering to life, illuminating the room. Besides the tools all along the walls, the middle was for once empty of car projects. "Perhaps there will be rain soon," he said, turning to look back at Crash. "When it rains, the sand dies down and it's not all that difficult to get through."

Crash walked into the garage and was finally relieved of the irritating sande. He looked to Kon and grinned. "Very well. If it does rain, I will take to the skies and head home." He then gave a large shake of his body and the sand fell from his body. He felt so much better here. He then looked back at Kon. "Thank you for giving me this shelter away from the sand."

"No problem. It's harder for people who don't usually live here to deal with the sands that blow through." Konozen shook his head, and sand poured down onto the floor. He blinked at how much had gotten caught in his hair by just bothering to argue with his brother. "It's almost like wringing a cloth and water pouring off, only this is sand instead of water."

Crash allowed his wings to seemingly seep out from his sides. He shook them lightly and sighed when all the sand fell to the floor. He kept them folded, but even then his wing tips touch the floor. Some of the feathers were as long as an eagle's wingspan. He gave a large yawn and looked back to Kon. "I suppose being used to more humid land doesn't help me being in this sandy desert either. Oh well."

"It's pretty strange to me when I finally get out of the desert," Konozen said quietly. "There isn't anymore sand, and even though I know I should turn back I keep going because it's different. Normally it bothers me, but it's because this is what I'm used to."
He shrugged then, as if it were all nothing as he combed his fingers through his hair. All it did was flop back in place once his hand returned to his side. "They bring food out here about one a month from other places, but only to restock the stores."
