Crash listened carefully and nodded. "You seem like the adventurous type. Perhaps I could take you on one of my flights over all the territories. It is a very wonderful feeling to fly smoothly over the clouds."

"I wish dearly that I could," he replied, a frown etched over his lips as he glanced down. "Mother would never allow it. Money is tight in our house, and my brother Rivenborn has a girlfriend who he decided to buy a very expensive gift for... it put us farther behind in bills and food."
Konozen wasn't very forgiving toward what he knew of his brother. He didn't care for Riven's excuses. Riven was just reckless and would never be as good as Mal. Mal was in and out of the hospital from being stabbed in no time, while Riven ran off with his girlfriend. "He doesn't care about us, only about her."

Crash gave a saddened look. "Perhaps there is something I can do to help?" He hated to see others struggle. Just because he may have been born out of a righ classed familly that rested in the skies didn't mean he wasn't the type that looked down upon others. He knew better, he was also raised to treat other as he himself wished to be treated. A golden rule, and he stuck with it like it was his life line.

"I'm not really sure what can be done." Konozen gave a defeated sigh. "We wouldn't be all this far behind if Riven would stop running off. We may have struggled even when he did help, or at least when he wasn't being yelled at and kept back at school, but it was better than now. Mal and Riven are both mechanics, and a lot of times they have to fix them because of large build ups of sand."
His eyes wandered to the lone window at the back of the room, grains of the golden substances pelting against it. Living out there could be rough, and the desert was even worse. The vets were always busy trying to help the unfortunate creatures buffeted with sand. It was the same for the hospitals and clinics.

Crash thought on this for a moment. He gave a sigh and laid down on his bell, his front legs tucked under his chest. Then something seemed to his him like a hard brick. He looked at Konozen. I had seen so many of my own kind taken from the skies for the feathers on our wings to sell for great amount of money. I wonder... He looked at his wing that laid at his side then Kon again. "How much of a boost do you need?"

"The debt isn't that bad, it's just trying to keep enough to pay that and put food on the table..." Konozen looked at the Pegasus in confusion, dumbfounded to what was going on. There were times when things didn't make sense to him in the least. With Crash beside him, it was one of those times he wasn't sure what was happening.

Crash gave a nod. "Well then, I know how to push you along with your money problems. It should help with what you need." He looked at Konozen. "Feather of a pegasus feathers are quite valuble in some places I have come to find out."

Konozen started, dumbfounded for a moment and stricken into shock. Once he recovered, he shook his head quickly. "I couldn't do that. Wouldn't it hurt to take one out?" He peered uncertainly at the feathers of the wing. It wouldn't be right to take such a thing from a creature like this, one that held such pride, would it?

Crash looked at Kon. "Just a little, but I'll get over it. Besides, it'll grow back." He grinned and glanced at his own feathers. He looked back at Konozen, wondering if the boy would agree to this, or if he'd refuse.

"But still!" he protested. "It is not mine to take, and you need not be hurt by I. It is generous of you, and I thank you for the offer, but I cannot take one of your feathers from you." He may had seemed silly arguing the matter, or at least to some others, but he found it perfectly rational. Mal wouldn't have accepted it -- which was what he was basing his decision on -- he would have worked harder to earn his life.

Crash nodded. "Very well then." He steched his wings up until they touched the ceiling and then laid them back at his sides. He looked out to see that it seemed like the sand wasn't coming though as hard.

Konozen glanced out the window, watching the sky grow a different hue as the sandstorms began to die down. The wind had to be weaker now, as it was at this time of day usually. It was close to sunset, the glimmering orb of flame changing the grains that still tried desperately to choke the air an orange hue.
For the rest of the sky, in the areas where it had cleared, cerise and pinks made up the clouds. Another setting sun for another ending day.
"It gets better at night," he explained. "The winds nearly stop. It's just difficult to see and it's pretty cold, is all."

Crash looked at Konozen. "I've flown in cold before. The sand was just irritating.." He cringed at the thought of having so much sand packed up itno his wings again. "Besides, night time is the best time to fly."

"It does seem like it would hurt to go through that again, since a lot of times it stings just to run through it..." Konozen didn't bother continuing his thought. He merely nodded in agreement with the Pegasus. Flying in the gelid night air was probably better than being buffeted by swirling gusts of sand.

Crash stared out at the sand and wished it would stop. He was ready to strech his wings open, but this place was too cramped to do so.
